General, scientific and technological courses are provided in the many schools across the department and in the innovation centre where the 4 faculties of the University of Orleans’ European campus , the University Technological Institute and engineering schools are located.
With recognised high skills potential, the innovation centre is also home to a large concentration of public and private research laboratories. The presence of research centres and training platforms encourages daily scientific and technological cooperation with businesses, especially as part of enterprise clusters.

IUFM Centre Val de Loire : In line with governement guidelines on education, the IUFMs are responsible for initial teacher training. They also implement in-service training programmes and take part in research on education.

The Orleans School of Commerce and Management (ECG)
The ECG specialises in courses leading to business and distribution and is developing new lines in industrial management. Each year, 2500 students are trained in marketing and sales, international commerce and purchasing, logistics and management functions.
In 2008, the Orleans ECG was ranked the fourth best vocational business school in France and the seventh best in international trade.

Engineering schools and specific courses :
- Polytechnic University School :
This provides engineering courses in civil engineering, electronics-optics, mechanical engineering and energy and production.
The school works in cooperation with the teams in the campus’s research laboratories. These laboratories are all focused on research with industry and work in corporation with a number of foreign countries.

The Institute of Visual Art, Orleans’ School of Art and Design, trains young creators in different skills in design and communication: object design, furniture, multimedia, graphics, illustration, photography, cinema, video...

This engineering diploma, awarded in partnership with Polytech'Orléans, trains engineers on the ground in production and helps them manage a production facility and the teams that go with it, manage activities or projects, makes them capable of managing a team and able to extend their area of responsibility later.
